Attorney JoAnn Holmes of HOLMES@LAW, LLC presented "5 Things to Know for Small Business" to the Gwinnett Women's Small Business Collective. The discussion included legal tips for branding, advertising, contract enforceability, and risk management. Jo also explained the importance of setting a sound legal foundation to both attact investors, and exit a venture at a premium.
With over 16 years in practice, Ms. Holmes has managed IP portfolios in over 130 countries and territories, and negotiated licenses for businesses with products in over 70 countries. She is a regular invited speaker on intellectual property, technology, licensing, advertising and social media. Jo has presented for the Association of Corporate Counsel, the Georgia State Bar, and Cornell Law School. In addition, she's served as an Adjunct Professor of Law, and written on legal issues for the American Bar Association.
